We appreciate you, your business, and your partnership!
Behind every successful business, partnerships play a vital role.
Forming partnerships in business is a must for all business owners and managers. There are many diff erent types of partnerships, such as partnerships formed amongst co-owners, partnerships with suppliers and distributors, and there are joint marketing partnerships where companies cross-promote each other’s business to achieve the same ultimate goal — SUCCESS! Partnerships are everywhere. Even the delivery carrier is a business partner. Having partnerships can boost revenue, create new opportunities by increasing the customer base, fuel innovation, and creativity, and can create long-term stability while enhancing credibility.
The most important partnership in the beauty industry is the relationship between distributors and manufacturers.
Each business relies on each other for success. Distributors must engage with beauty manufacturers. The biggest and most helpful thing any beauty distributor can do to successfully sell beauty products is to develop a good relationship with the manufacturers that they represent and learn as much as they possibly can from them. Most of the manufacturers off er product knowledge classes that will help the distributor staff deliver a knowledgeable dialogue with their clients. Knowing what a product does, the features and benefits, how to use it, as well as the comparative competitive product and how it truly compares without negatively talking about the competition, will make the distributor look like a superstar in their client’s eyes. It never hurts to sit in a technique class of one of your brands to pick up on the lingo and get an insight into how the professionals achieve the results desired. No time for the in-person class? Watch a video online. Most manufacturers have training videos online.
Manufacturers must support distribution. The manufacturer’s ultimate goal is the same as the distributors’ — pleasing their clients and maximizing sales. Manufacturers will assist in training new staff members on product knowledge, support sales with classes and ride-alongs, and work with distributors on creating promotions and staff sales incentives.
Another important partnership is the relationship between the business and its marketing partners. Marketing partnerships can be the company that designs all of the business’s advertising, including digital (social media and email campaigns) and brand influencers. Distributors are brands, just like manufacturers. Streamlining the branding, and marketing across all platforms of the business will create a stronger brand awareness. By keeping in constant communication with the marketing teams involved will ensure that everyone is communicating the same and aligned with brand goals and image. Do distributors need an influencer for their business? Yes — influencers are not employees reading ads; they are the public face of your business. They don’t represent just one manufacturer; they represent the distributor and everything it has to offer. Distributors that are looking into an influencer, start by looking at the customer base first before looking into companies that can help, such as Impact.com.
Everyone wins in a partnership when there is a little something in it for all involved.
